Watch this if your kid struggles to do STEM activities

It’s really important ‡️

What is your guess? Is it a lack of knowledge? Not the right materials? Not interested?

In my almost eight years of doing STEM activities with kids, the #1 reason they wouldn’t try STEM activities is…

✨Fear of failing

We get it right? As a millennial, I was conditioned to always seek out the right answer when learning. You too? πŸ™‹β€β™€οΈ

When doing STEM activities with preschool or elementary kids, it is often open-ended with no “right” answer. This type of learning helps to build cricital thinking, problem-solving, and innovative skills. Which are all great, right??

The challenge of this type of learning is that kids who are used to focusing on getting the right answer can be overwhelmed at the lack of correct answer.

So what is the solution??

✨Keep offering activities that encourage open-ended answers! Aka more and more STEM activities to build their confidence in their ability to create without needing the “right” answer.
