Learn how to help improve your child’s handwriting (quickly)!!!

Messy handwriting seems to be somewhat of a rite of passage for most kids these days — especially for kids with dyslexia and other processing issues.

It’s just not that common for kids to be explicitly taught how to write anymore, so many simply don’t know how to.

If your child has messy handwriting, start working to improve it! Don’t just tell them to “write neater”; that probably won’t help much. Instead, show them HOW to write neater by focusing on 3 things:

1. Letter sizes (Let your kids know that there are only 2 sizes of letters — short or tall.)

2. Letter formation (Teach your kids how to correctly form each letter. This entails starting at the top for almost all letters.)

3. No jumping!!! (Remind your kids that ALL letters need to touch the bottom line/“walk on the ground”; they aren’t allowed to “jump” while in line!)
