Maya's Guide for Bird Watching for Kids and Parents

Bird watching is fun. You can find many different types of birds in a park. Keep a journal with you so you can collect information about the birds and then identify them using a field guide.

Things that would be helpful to have are these:

– Local field guide that tells you about trees and animals in your area
– Pen and paper so you can write about birds you see
– Binoculars so you can see birds more closely when they’re in a tree
– Sound recorder to record the sound of birds
– Snacks and water so you can stay out a bit longer
– A jacket in case it gets cold
